Specifying Plastic Enclosures For Industry 4.0 Electronics

Electronics manufacturers know the importance of Industry 4.0 only too well. The race is on to create the next generation of robotics, computing, sensor and HMI products that will take manufacturing to the next level and beyond. OEMs face huge pressure to meet burgeoning demand in this rapidly growing market sector. And all this IIoT sensor technology must be housed within enclosures robust enough to meet the challenging demands of the modern smart factory. That in itself has created a mini-boom segment in the electronic enclosures market.

SUCCESSFULLY CERTIFIED IN ACCORDANCE WITH ISO 9001:2015

At the beginning of September, we successfully passed the recertification audit in accordance with ISO 9001, Edition 2015. The DQS auditors, who spent two days on the company premises, especially praised the internal catalogue of measures and the company’s crisis management during the Corona crisis. In addition, positive emphasis was placed on the high motivation of the staff, trainee support and personnel development.
This successful certification once again confirmed that all of the relevant quality criteria for the development, production, finishing and distribution of enclosures/tuning knobs are observed and that the processes are conducted transparently and in compliance with the relevant standards.

New management in the production division

The 31.07.2020 was one of those days when the future began!

After more than 30 years, our long-standing and highly respected production manager Helmut Böhrer took his well-deserved retirement. This signalled the end of a long era.

During his career at OKW Gehäusesysteme, Mr. Helmut Böhrer set up the current range of services in the field of individualisation from the very beginning. Starting off with 3 employees and 2 milling machines in 1993, the production division with its 80 employees is today a major mainstay of the company.

The services offered today include the customer-specific modification of standard plastic and metal enclosures and tuning knobs using our own equipment and customer tool construction facility as well as job order production to the highest industrial standards, even for small series – there is nothing comparable in breadth and depth under one roof, and in this combination, anywhere in the world.

After his dedicated pioneering work for OKW, Mr. Helmut Böhrer is now looking forward to a new phase in his life.

For the new production management, Ms. Jasmin Weber and Mr. Julian Henn, the future is now beginning as new managers of the entire production division.

We wish you every success!

IN-BOX enclosure in PC with transparent top part

The IN-BOX enclosure range made of UV-stabilised polycarbonate has been extended by 16 versions with transparent top parts (84 x 82 x 55 - 302 x 232 x 110 mm).
The transparent top part of the enclosure offers the advantage that display elements integrated directly on the PCB, e.g. LEDs for system status displays, devices and the like are visible from the outside. This saves additional assembly and material costs for the routing and wiring of components as well as the subsequent machining of the top part of the enclosure. In addition, the protection class remains unaffected.

Emergency call and assistance systems give elderly people security

A sudden fall. You cannot get up on your own, and perhaps you have even injured yourself more seriously. Emergency call systems can help here! They support senior citizens and people in need of help in their daily lives, warn of dangers and notify relatives or the emergency services in case of an emergency. OKW enclosures make a decisive contribution here – whether as a wearable version on the body, fixed to the wall or as a desktop base station.
